Bio

Praised for his dynamic conducting style and insightful musicianship, Alfonso Piacentini is a rising star in the world of orchestral music. Currently serving as Assistant Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director of the Lincoln-Sudbury Civic Orchestra, Mr. Piacentini has also led performances with the Mass Opera, West End Lyric Opera, and Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble. He has made guest appearances with Boston Landmarks Orchestra as their Maestro Zone conductor, the Young Artists Concert Orchestra of Puerto Rico and numerous other ensembles. His extensive international experience includes touring with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, performing throughout Europe, Greece, South Africa, and Mexico.

Mr. Piacentini is also a sought-after private conducting teacher and has participated in prestigious summer festivals such as Cabrillo Festival and Eastern Music Festival. A native of Puerto Rico, Mr. Piacentini holds a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the Boston Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Percussion Performance from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.
